Friday's Fun Friend Card

Karen here today and I am sharing a card I made recently with some fun stamps from Crackerbox Palace. One of the reasons I love designing with CBP stamps is their huge selection of laugh out loud stamps. I love using humor in the cards I make and hope the recipients enjoy it too.
To make this card, I started with a Tim Holtz embossing folder that reminds me of what a cracked egg mess would look like. I find I am using washi tape more and more in my cards. It is such an easy and fun embellishment to use. I stamped and cut out the egg and raised it with a pop dot onto the brown diamond piece. Then I stamped the perfect sentiment to complete the card.
I like how it turned out and hope you do too. Please visit the website to see these and many other awesome Crackerbox Palace stamps.

Stampscapes Buggy Ride

Vicky here today and I wanted to share some more of Stampscapes new stamps.
The barn, fence, stones at left and stone path at the bottom are the new stamps. I added the hill to the right behind the barn. The buggy is from Crackerbox. I colored it with Copic markers.
Here are the stamps I used:

The Soft Hill is one of my favorite stamps

I used this stamp for the trees behind the barn.

Happy Memorial Day

First, thank you to all of the vets for our freedom.

Vicky here today and I hope everyone has a happy and safe Memorial Day.
This is a card I made for my daughter's boyfriend, Matt. He spent 15 months in Iraq. We will be going over to their house for a cookout later today. It's a BYOBM~Bring Your Own Beer & Meat. Here in WI. I do a lot of cookouts while we can. Usually the cookouts are BYOB.
I found this pin in one of my drawers, amazing what I find in there.
This is a custom stamp John made for me for this card for Matt.

Happy Birthday Vicky!

Karen here today - I know it is Tuesday and I usually blog for Crackerbox Palace on Friday, but today is Vicky Brigg's birthday and so I am moving up my blogging to today in honor of this special day! I have known Vicky for about a year now and what a fun year it has been! Vicky and John have been so generous and kind to me and I have had so much fun designing with their awesome stamps. I feel so blessed to have Vicky in my life and so I wanted to express that here.

I received this beautiful sentiment stamp as a gift from a dear friend for my birthday. It is just perfect for card makers and I sent this card (along with others) to Vicky for her birthday. I started with a two sided paper and cut a fun large border with my Silhouette and a Silhouette cutting file. I stamped the beautiful sentiment and cut that out with a Lifestyle Crafts die.

Why don't you join in the celebration by leaving a comment here or on Facebook with your birthday wishes for Vicky?

Happy Birthday Vicky - and here's to many more!

Coloring with Sponges and Ink at CBP

Karen here today and I am sharing a card I made recently with some beautiful stamps from Crackerbox Palace. You may have noticed I am a day later than I normally blog for Crackerbox Palace. We have changed the schedule and you can expect to find me here every Friday with a card or two to share with you.
I fell in love with this gorgeous seagull and water image the first time I saw Vicky coloring it. There is no way I can color as beautifully as she can, so I am showing you a different way to use this image. I embossed the scene with black embossing powder, stamped the sentiment and then sponged with various inks. I masked the moon and left the seagull and sentiment uncolored to highlight them. I like how it turned out and hope you do too. Please visit the website to see these and many other awesome Crackerbox Palace stamps.

Funny Crackerbox Palace Sentiment Stamps

Karen here today and I am sharing a card I made recently with Crackerbox Palace’s funny sentiment stamps and my Silhouette Portrait electronic cutting machine. Crackerbox Palace has tons of lol funny stamps – check them out of their website here.
You may have noticed I am a day later than I normally blog for Crackerbox Palace. We have changed the schedule and you can expect to find me here every Friday with a card or two to share with you.
I love using humor in my cards, especially when the punch line inside the card cracks up the person receiving the card. The front of this card is all beautiful and serious with a lovely butterfly cut out using a Silhouette America digital cutting file. The designer paper is two sided, so I flipped the butterfly to the yellow side and attached with some pearls. Under the hole created by the butterfly, I layered washi tape and some more pearls. I stamped the Best Friends sentiment on the front and finished it on the inside on the same designer paper:

Unless you are too young to understand, this CPB sentiment surely put a smile on your face. Hope you enjoyed my card! Thanks for visiting and I will be back next Friday with another Crackerbox Palace card.

ATC Stampscape New Barn

Have you heard that Stampscapes has some new stamps?
YUP! and there are some great images to choose from.
I colored this ATC with Copic markers.
I really love Stampscapes, you can do so much with them. It is so easy to use just a part of a stamp (which I will show in a couple of days) so I tell my stampers not to only look at the stamp as one stamp. There are more ideas that I will be sharing later this week.
Stampscapes has bigger images to use in a standard card or larger scene AND smaller images. The smaller images are perfect for ATC but can also be used on standard cards too!
Well, on to this ATC. The barn image is new and you can see them here.
Now, as I was saying, not to take them as one stamp.
The hill behind the barn is actually
361 Snowfield
and you can see it here.
You don't have to use it 4 months out of the year, color it green and it becomes a hill with or without a path. I hope you stop by Stampscapes  to check out the great stamps and Kevin also has done some great videos.

Graduation Cards from Crackerbox Palace!

Karen here today and I am sharing two graduation cards I made with Crackerbox Palace stamps. I have a niece and nephew who are graduating this year from high school and so have had fun designing some cards for them. Crackerbox Palace has tons of graduation and other special occasion stamps – check them out of their website here!
I liked the sentiment “Your future’s so bright, you have to wear shades” with the sunglasses and I think a teenager would too, so I used it on both of the cards I am showing today. My first card is in the shape of a graduation gown and hat that I learned how to make here. A tutorial for the tassle is here. Purple and gold are the school colors for one of my special graduates – I always try to make graduation cards in the school colors to really personalize them. I simply stamped and cut out the sentiment and sunglasses and attached them to the front. Here is a close up pix and also what the inside looks like. The pocket is perfect for holding a check or cash gift for the graduate.

My second card features the same sentiment, a sun with sunglasses wearing a graduation hat and a beautiful script Happy Graduation. I cut the front diagonally and added a strip of washi tape in school colors again.
The winner of last Thursday’s blog candy is  Joy! Here is her winning comment from my blog: This is a cute card!!! My sister would love your sentiment!!

Joy, please email me or Crackerbox Palace your address and your choice of which stamps you want, so we can get you the stamps you have won.
